The DDC01.2-N200-DS01-02-FW is a digital servo drive manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the DDC Digital Intelligent Servo Drives series. This unit is series 1 and version 2. It is intended for closed-loop servo applications that require precise speed regulation and repeatable positioning. In an automation cell, it sits between the mains supply and a synchronous motor, modulating current so that position and speed commands from the controller are followed accurately. Its SERCOS-compatible fiber-optic interface and digital servo feedback close the loop with low latency, enabling coordinated multi-axis movement without discrete analog wiring. That makes it suitable for coordinated motion in packaging, transfer, and machine-tool systems.
During steady operation, the drive can supply a continuous phase current of 45 A. Incoming power must be provisioned for 22.5 kVA for proper supply sizing in the control cabinet. Gate switching in the IGBT bridge is clocked at 4 kHz, producing a carrier frequency that balances acoustic noise with motor iron losses. The housing is rated IP65, so live electronics remain protected from dust and low-pressure water jets when the drive is mounted on the machine. Regenerated kinetic energy up to 20 kWs can be absorbed internally, while the bleeder handles 0.25 kW continuously and dissipates 500 W of drive power loss in normal duty. This allows the unit to manage braking energy internally during normal operation.
For short acceleration bursts, the drive can reach 200 A, while separate transient overload conditions are limited to 90 A for a few seconds before thermal foldback begins. The converter can redirect mechanical energy from over-running axes into its bleeder circuit and sustain a continuous mechanical load of 7.5 kW. During abrupt deceleration, the bleeder accepts up to 40 kW momentarily to keep the DC-bus voltage within safe limits. This operating range supports demanding stop-and-go axes that return energy during deceleration. Despite these ratings, the drive weighs only 22 kg, which helps reduce mounting load on the panel structure.
