The DDC01.2-N050A-R is a digital intelligent servo drive built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDC Digital Intelligent Servo Drives series. It converts three-phase mains power into a regulated pulse-width modulation output that is synchronized with resolver feedback from the motor shaft. By combining power electronics with integrated motion control, the device provides closed-loop torque, velocity, and position regulation for axes used in packaging machines, handling robots, and general factory automation. Resolver feedback allows the controller to monitor shaft motion and correct deviations caused by changing loads or operating conditions.
Under nominal load, the power stage supplies 25 A continuously, and excess DC-bus energy is dissipated through a resistor rated at 0.25 kW. For short acceleration bursts, the drive can output up to 50 A, while the upstream transformer must provide a steady 6 kVA. Internal switching occurs at 8 kHz, helping to keep motor current ripple low during controlled motion. Continuous power loss is 500 W, and the heat sinks use standard airflow paths to remove this heat without auxiliary fans. A bleeder network can absorb up to 5 kWs of regenerated energy during motor deceleration. The DC link withstands nonperiodic line surges of up to 745 V without immediately triggering a protective shutdown. These electrical characteristics support repetitive acceleration and braking while keeping the power stage within its normal operating limits.
The unit can operate at ambient temperatures of up to 55 °C and at installation altitudes of up to 1,000 m. Its IP65 enclosure blocks dust ingress and resists low-pressure water jets, allowing the drive to be installed near industrial machinery when the required connections are properly sealed. Resolver signals remain accurate over combined motor and feedback cables that do not exceed 75 m. During emergency stops, the bleeder can dissipate short bursts reaching 10 kW, helping the drive manage regenerated energy produced by rapid deceleration. The product is Series 1 and Version 2, which indicates its position within the established DDC design line. Its sealed housing and internal thermal path protect the electronics while allowing generated heat to move toward the external heat sink surfaces.
