The DDC01.2-K050C-D is a digital intelligent servo drive developed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDC Digital Intelligent Servo Drives series. It interfaces between an Indramat AC servo motor and higher-level automation controllers, translating motion commands into controlled three-phase power while dissipating excess energy during braking cycles. By combining power electronics, bleeder circuitry, and digital control logic in one sealed housing, the unit supports precise position and speed control on packaging lines, material-handling axes, and general factory machinery.
During continuous duty, the internal bleeder absorbs up to 0.25 kW of regenerated power, keeping the DC bus stable when the axis decelerates. The power stage supplies a continuous motor current of 25 A, enabling a sustained mechanical output of 4 kW at the shaft. For short bursts, the bleeder tolerates 10 kW, and the inverter can deliver a peak phase current of 50 A to cover sudden changes in load, supporting a momentary mechanical output of 8.5 kW. Natural convection cooling removes heat from the heat sink, an 8 kHz PWM carrier limits audible switching noise, digital servo feedback is accepted over encoder cables up to 75 m long, and reliable operation is supported at elevations up to 1000 m above sea level.
The unit’s fixed power dissipation is 500 W, so enclosure ventilation must accommodate this thermal load. It draws up to 6 kVA from the three-phase supply and provides IP65 ingress protection, allowing direct mounting on machine frames without separate cabinets. Acoustic emission is classified as reduced at the full motor rating, and up to 5 kWs of pulse energy can be returned to the DC link before the bleeder activates.
