The DDC01.1-K050B-DS59-50-FW is a closed-loop inverter module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDC Digital Intelligent Servo Drives series. Housed as a single-axis unit, it converts cabinet mains power into phase-controlled power and monitors motor position, velocity, and fault status in real time. This integration supports precise motion on packaging lines, pick-and-place robots, and printing presses while reducing the need for external control hardware.
The unit accepts a supply of 3 × 230 V AC and can provide up to 50 A of continuous output current to the motor windings. All command and status data move over the fiber-optic SERCOS interface, providing deterministic telegram timing for coordinated multi-axis motion. Heat generated by the converter section is removed through natural air convection, so unobstructed cabinet airflow is required. Overcurrent shutdown activates at 1.5 times the rated current, protecting the semiconductors during short-term load surges. These electrical limits must be considered when selecting fuses, contactors, and conductor cross-sectional areas for the installation.
Two diagnostically independent alarm paths provide 2 channels on the front panel for reporting the operating state to a safety relay or PLC. Encoder information and temperature data travel through the hybrid motor cable, which supports routing distances of up to 75 m without signal repeaters. The control loop uses digital servo feedback, enabling accurate position control during commanded acceleration and deceleration. DC-link protection engages when the bus voltage reaches 475 V, diverting excess energy during regenerative braking events. The drive is Series 1 and Version 1, so its parameter files must correspond to that product release. Its reduced acoustic output at the motor’s rated power supports use in production areas where lower equipment noise is preferred.
