Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DDC01.1-K050B-DS48-00-FW intelligent servo drive for the DDC Digital Intelligent Servo Drives series. The unit converts DC-bus energy into precisely modulated motor currents to govern rotary axes in packaging lines, material-handling equipment, and assembly systems. Acting as the link between a motion controller and a synchronous motor, it supervises current, velocity, and position while protecting the power stage and mechanical load. Its closed-loop architecture enables the connected axis to respond accurately to changing motion commands and operating conditions.
Its power section delivers a continuous output of 50 A, and an allowable surge of 1.5 times the rated current supports rapid acceleration commands without causing nuisance trips. The analog test socket provides a span of ±10 V and can drive measurement instruments with up to 4 mA, providing direct visibility into internal variables. All cyclic setpoints and feedback travel across the fiber-optic SERCOS interface, ensuring deterministic communication with PLCs and compatible motion controllers. Drive logic reports precharge, bleeder status, and additional diagnostic information through the Bb relay, which is rated for 24 V and 1 A. The X8 output can switch auxiliary loads requiring up to 100 mA.
Heat is removed solely through natural air convection, so the cabinet must provide adequate clearance for passive airflow around the drive. Overvoltage protection disconnects the DC link when its voltage rises above 475 V, while an undervoltage contact closes after the bus voltage exceeds 200 V to indicate mains recovery. Regenerative loading is flagged when bleeder consumption reaches 75 percent of its continuous capacity. The brake control circuit energizes at +24 V DC, releasing the motor clamp during powered operation. Encoder lines can be routed up to 75 m, and numerical control leads can extend up to 20 m without signal boosters. Digital servo feedback and a reduced noise profile help preserve signal quality across these cable runs.
