The DDC01.1-K050A-DS60-00-FW is a digital intelligent servo drive developed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDC Digital Intelligent Servo Drives series. It functions as a power amplifier for controlling motor torque, velocity, and position in automated production cells. Motion commands arrive through a SERCOS fieldbus, which provides deterministic communication between the drive and the higher-level motion controller. The drive processes these commands and regulates the power delivered to the connected servo motor. This closed-loop operation supports coordinated motion in production machinery that requires controlled acceleration, speed, and positioning.
The drive operates from a three-phase supply rated at 3 × 230 V AC and supports line frequencies from 50 to 60 Hz. The power input tolerates line-voltage fluctuations of +10% to -15%, allowing operation across the stated supply range. Under continuous duty, the drive supplies a nominal output current of 50 A. An electronic trip limits the current to 1.5 × the rated current, helping protect the power stage during a short circuit or motor stall. DC-link monitoring disengages the inverter when the bus voltage reaches UD > 475 V. An overtemperature detector allows a 30-second delay before shutdown so brief thermal increases can subside without immediately interrupting operation. Heat is removed through natural convection air cooling, so the unit does not require an integrated fan. The IN 217 motor power connector provides the electrical connection between the drive and motor cabling.
The holding brake begins to clamp after 400 ms, coordinating shaft restraint with the drive’s shutdown sequence. Motor torque is released after a 500 ms disconnect period, which allows the brake time to engage before the inverter stops supporting the load. During brake engagement, the shaft slows to 10 rpm, reducing the mechanical shock applied to the brake assembly. The friction lining is rated for 20,000 revolutions over its service life. Motor regulation uses digital servo feedback, allowing the controller to close position and velocity loops internally from the returned motor signals. Protective logic coordinates brake timing, inverter shutdown, overvoltage monitoring, and thermal detection to prevent abrupt transitions during controlled stops.
