Designed to regulate synchronous motor torque and speed, the unit converts three-phase line power into controlled output pulses, enabling closed-loop positioning in packaging lines, material-handling axes, and general automation cells. Its architecture integrates motion control, power conversion, and field interfaces in a single IP65-rated housing, allowing installation outside a control panel and close to the motor while minimizing cable runs.
The drive accepts a three-phase AC 220/230 V supply and operates with incoming line frequencies of 50/60 Hz. A separate 24 VDC control supply keeps the logic circuits active when the main power is disconnected. Under nominal conditions, the power section delivers a rated current of 50 A, while an electronic limiter permits surges up to 1.5 × rated current so short acceleration bursts do not trigger faults. This temporary current capacity supports rapid changes in motor speed without requiring the drive to sustain the higher output continuously. To protect the drive against line transients, an overvoltage detector opens the bus when the DC voltage reaches 475 VDC.
Thermal management relies on a liquid cooling circuit that removes switching losses directly from the heat sink, allowing full output without derating in sealed enclosures. The housing carries an IP65 rating, so it can be flange-mounted on machines exposed to dust and low-pressure water jets. Parameter settings and diagnostics are handled locally through an RS-232 service port, while real-time setpoints and feedback are exchanged through the integrated SERCOS interface. An analog monitor channel provides a ±10 V signal at 4 mA for connection to external indicators. Feedback cables can extend up to 75 m, allowing the drive to receive encoder signals from motors installed at a distance without significant signal loss.
