By combining a small character display with a sealed key field, the device supports local setup and troubleshooting inside automated cells. The unit is supplied with an IKS 745 shielded cable that carries both power and data while limiting electromagnetic interference. Visual feedback comes from a 4 × 16 alphanumeric field, which shows four rows of sixteen characters for concise parameter names and values. Because the screen is an LCD, it draws minimal current and remains easy to read during normal machine operation. Operator input is handled by 20 keys, and each key has its own scan code for menu navigation, numeric entry, and fault reset functions.

The front panel uses a pressure-sensitive membrane switch layer, creating a smooth surface that resists dust and cleaning fluids while providing a consistent touch response through integrated domes. When the backlight is active, total harness length is limited to 10 m to keep illumination voltage within tolerance. With the display unlit, reliable operation extends to 30 m, which supports remote mounting on cabinet doors or mobile pendant arms.
