Bosch Rexroth designed the drive controllers of its IndraDrive system with two essential components: the control section and the power section. The ADVANCED control sections meet demands for high performance and dynamics. Their applications cover food packaging machines, machine tools, and handling and mounting systems.

The CSH01.1C-SE-EN2-EN2-NNN-L2-S-NN-FW is one of the configurable control sections in Bosch Rexroth’s CSH series. It is compatible with different kinds of encoders thanks to its two encoder evaluation interfaces. These encoders have supply voltage ratings of 5V; they include the sin-cos encoder (1 Vpp) with EnDat 2.1 and sense lines, the 5V-TTL square-wave encoder with reference track, and the sin-cos encoder (1 Vpp) with reference track. Thanks to the SERCOS master communication module in the control section, it can interact with higher-level control units. It uses fiber optic cables for this connection, eliminating electromagnetic interference and ensuring increased data transmission speed. The data rate and transmission power of the SERCOS module are set using the serial interface X2.

Firmware can be used with the CSH01.1C-SE-EN2-EN2-NNN-L2-S-NN-FW, but this must be ordered separately. The control section is also fitted with a standard control panel to trigger different commands. Some functions that users can implement using the control panel include  establishing the position data reference, setting the analog outputs, starting the basic load defaults procedure, and accessing the error memory. Safe Torque Off is the integrated safety option in this CSH model. It is a cost-effective solution for preventing the drive from restarting unintentionally. The control section’s typical inrush current is 4A, while its maximum pulse width is 100ms. It accommodates operation at switching frequencies of 2kHz, 4kHz, 8kHz, 12kHz, and 16kHz.
