The CSB02.5B-ET-EC-EP-S5-NN-NN-NW is a control section manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CSB Drive Controllers series. The unit forms the logic layer of a modular servo drive and coordinates motion sequences, fieldbus traffic, and local I/O for factory automation equipment. By combining processor resources with dedicated Ethernet modules, it links the HMU power stage and downstream motors, translating higher-level commands into precise current and velocity references within an application.
It is powered from a DC 24 V control supply that feeds the onboard processors, communication transceivers, and safety circuits. The control section exposes 11 digital inputs for limit switches, interlocks, or user commands, while another five configurable digital channels can be programmed as inputs or outputs for flexible signal routing. Network integration is handled by its 100Base-TX interface, and both ports terminate on an 8-pin RJ-45 connector so daisy-chain or ring topologies can be built without external switches. With two internal Ethernet ports, the module supports real-time communication over distances up to 100 m when standard industrial Cat-5e cabling is used. The logic board mates directly with the HMU05 power section to create a compact axis controller.
For local feedback and monitoring, the controller offers 2 analog outputs that can transmit torque or speed values to external indicators. Three expansion bays accept 3 optional slots, allowing fieldbus, encoder, or safety cards to be added without changing the base hardware. Position capture is supported by two probe inputs, and the encoder interface can source 500 mA with a ceiling of 6 W to power single-turn or multi-turn feedback devices. An ET diagnostic module draws 2.7 W, and the integrated S5 safety module needs 2.5 W, which helps with cabinet power budgeting.
