Product Description:
The CSB02.5B-ET-EC-EP-S4-NN-NN-NW is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the CSB Drive Controllers series. It works as the control section that links a higher-level PLC to power inverters and servo motors, managing axis positioning, velocity, and integrated safety for automated machinery such as packaging stations and gantry robots. By combining fieldbus routing, sensor evaluation, and motion-related safety in one unit, it simplifies cabinet wiring and reduces setup time in industrial automation cells.
It offers 2 analog current inputs for 0–20 mA transducers, while 3 analog inputs capture additional process variables, including ±10 V signals that require continuous sampling. For discrete signaling, the controller contains 11 digital inputs, and an extra 5 configurable digital I/O lines can be set as sinks or sources to suit the installed sensors. Feedback from the machine enters through a 15-pin female D-Sub encoder connector attached to a multi-encoder interface capable of reading Hiperface, EnDat 2.1/2.2, SSI, and TTL formats. Selectable encoder supply rails of 5 V or 12 V eliminate external power adapters, and two probe inputs let the controller latch positional data on rapid trigger events.
Network exchange relies on 2 Ethernet ports, and the controller supports Sercos III, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET IO protocols, enabling integration with a wide range of machine controllers. The safety layer is built around S4 Safe Motion, which works with 2-input, 2-output safe I/O channels to execute controlled stops and monitored speed functions without extra relays. An RJ-45 8-pin 100Base-TX engineering port provides service access, two analog outputs mirror internal variables for legacy indicators, and resolver feedback is not supported when S4 is active. Multi-encoder handling, dual probe lines, and flexible supply rails allow several axis sensors to be processed simultaneously by a single module.
