The CSB02.5B-ET-EC-CN-NN-DA-NN-NW drive controller is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CSB Drive Controllers series. It regulates current, velocity, and position for a single electromechanical axis, enabling tight motion loops in packaging machines, gantry loaders, light machining centers, and other equipment that relies on synchronized motion. By merging the power stage, feedback evaluation, and multi-protocol networking into a single module, the unit streamlines cabinet layouts, reduces separate hardware, and simplifies setup while keeping deterministic control tied to the central PLC.
This controller manages one motion channel in a single-axis configuration and provides decentralized expansion through CANopen that supports up to 127 nodes in a line topology. Local process signals are handled by two differential analog inputs, two analog outputs, and two configurable I/O points, while six digital inputs and six digital outputs support limit switches, home sensors, fast triggers, contactors, and indicator lamps. The current-loop measurement path offers a bandwidth of 1.3 kHz with 13-bit resolution, allowing fast disturbance rejection. The voltage-loop path converts with 14-bit depth for precise drive voltage estimation.
Output registers update every 250 µs, so setpoint changes reach the power stage with very little delay during dynamic motion updates. Position data arrives through the drive’s multi-encoder interface, which accepts EnDat, Hiperface, or incremental formats without extra cards, which helps the controller work with different feedback devices in the same platform. For higher-level communication, the controller ships with EtherNet/IP and can also operate on EtherCAT, sercos III, or PROFINET IO so it can fit established plant network requirements. Integrated safety technology is not included, so external safety relays or controllers must handle stop functions when required by the installation.
