The CSB02.1B-ET-EC-PB-S4-NN-NN-AW is a modular drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CSB Drive Controllers series. Installed in a control cabinet, it links servo or induction drives to plant-wide networks and supervises their torque, speed, and position loops. Integrated safety hardware inside the controller evaluates motion-related inputs so that automated conveyor lines, pick-and-place stations, and packaging axes can be stopped or permitted to move according to functional-safety rules.

On its signal side, the unit provides 2 differential analog outputs with a ±10 V range that can forward process values such as velocity or torque demand to external devices. Command and status signals enter through 11 digital inputs, while 5 points can be configured as either inputs or outputs for application-specific logic tasks. An Ethernet backplane port works at a 100Base-TX data rate and is presented on an 8-pin RJ-45 connector; this link consumes only 2.7 W of internal power. Additional wiring freedom is available through three optional slots that accept expansion cards, and the safe-motion circuitry draws 2.5 W when active so heat dissipation remains low inside compact enclosures.

Network flexibility is ensured by the built-in Multi-Ethernet interface that supports several industrial protocols without extra hardware, and legacy field wiring can be retained because a PROFIBUS master or slave board is already integrated. Position feedback from synchronous or asynchronous motors is accepted through the Multi-Encoder Interface, letting the controller process sine-cosine, Hiperface, EnDat, or resolver signals without reconfiguration. Up to 35 safety zone nodes can be monitored simultaneously through the controller’s Safe Motion (S4) technology, allowing decentralized machines to share a coordinated stop, velocity, or limited-position state across the line.
