Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the CSB02.1B-ET-EC-PB-NN-EC-NN-FW as a member of the CSB Drive Controllers series. This unit serves as the central motion processor in multi-axis automation, handling feedback, I/O coordination, and network connectivity between servo drives and higher-level control systems. By consolidating encoder interfaces, fieldbus links, and local signal points, the controller coordinates synchronized positioning tasks in packaging, handling, and general machinery. This layout supports coordinated machine operation across several connected axes.

The analog section samples motor feedback currents to 11 bit depth and processes command voltages with 13 bit granularity, while its programmable DAC produces reference levels in 24 mV/incr steps for external devices. For plant networking, the controller integrates Multi-Ethernet and exposes a 100Base-TX channel on an RJ-45, 8-pin ET port so application data and diagnostics travel over standard copper cabling. Motion feedback is accepted through two multi-encoder interfaces, and three optional slots allow expansion cards to be added without altering the base hardware. PROFIBUS communication is handled by an internal master/slave node that conforms to the EIA-RS485 standard, and the repeater supply can source 75 mA to downstream segments.

Local signals are handled through 5 configurable digital I/O channels that can each be set as an input or an output, alongside 11 digital inputs reserved for fast limit switches and reference sensors. When the module acts as an output driver, it can source up to 500 mA of digital output current, and the integrated relay contacts are rated for 1000 mA so interlocks or contactors can be energized directly. All discrete resources share the same fieldbus timing, which helps maintain deterministic response when optional cards are installed. The controller is supplied without integrated safety technology, so external safety hardware is required when the application calls for it.
