The CSB02.1B-ET-EC-NN-S4-NN-NN-AW drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CSB Drive Controllers series. It supervises servo axes and gathers local process signals. It also forwards diagnostic data to plant networks, forming the command layer between a central PLC and the power sections that energize motors in automated machinery. By separating command functions from the power stage, it supports coordinated motion while keeping communication and local signal handling in one control unit. Local signal acquisition also reduces the need for separate interface hardware near the axis, which helps keep machine layouts compact.

Its I/O architecture provides 2 analog outputs for reference values and actuator commands and 11 digital inputs that accept 24 V sensor states, enabling direct evaluation of limit switches and home signals. A dedicated control bus requires 24 V DC from an external supply to power the logic circuits and the multi-encoder interface. That interface can furnish 500 mA at 12 V for absolute or incremental transmitters, and it automatically adapts to TTL or HTL formats. Network coupling is handled by 2 Ethernet ports operating under the 100Base-TX standard, allowing daisy-chain topologies and real-time communication with higher-level motion tasks. Resolver feedback is not available on versions equipped with the S4 safety option, so only digital encoder types are supported.

The electronics draw only 17 W at idle, reducing thermal load on the enclosure. The controller also provides 5 configurable I/O points that can be assigned as sourcing outputs or additional inputs for custom handshake signals. This flexibility supports machines that use a mix of simple status signals and switched control points. For low-voltage transducers, the encoder supply delivers 500 mA at 5 V, providing a second rail independent of the 12 V feed. Safety-related monitoring circuits consume just 2.5 W, leaving margin on the 24 V line for peripheral sensors and contactors.
