The CSB02.1B-ET-EC-EP-SB-EC-NN-FW is a drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CSB Drive Controllers series. In an automation cell, it translates motion commands into power-stage signals and interprets encoder feedback. It also exchanges process data with higher-level PLCs, giving coordinated axis control for packaging, handling, and machine-tool stations.

The unit integrates Multi-Ethernet communication, so it can join EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, or SERCOS III networks without additional hardware. Eleven discrete inputs are available; the set of 11 digital inputs captures sensor states or PLC flags, while five terminals are reserved as configurable digital I/O to adapt to task-specific roles. Three analog inputs accept ±10 V signals such as torque or speed commands, and two analog outputs report internal variables to external indicators. Current loops are accommodated by two dedicated current inputs. An engineering port terminated on RJ-45, 100Base-TX provides direct network access. Power-up stress on the supply bus is limited by an inrush current below 5 A and a controlled inrush pulse duration of 1 ms, protecting upstream fusing and contactors.

A front-panel encoder socket uses a D-Sub, 15-pin, female connector to receive primary position data, and both primary and secondary channels support a Multi-Encoder Interface so EnDat-2.2, Hiperface DSL, or SSI encoders can be mixed within one axis group. Three optional slots allow auxiliary I/O or fieldbus modules to be added without enlarging the cabinet footprint. Internal electronics draw only 17 W, minimizing heat buildup when the drive is idle. Functional safety is handled on the Safe Motion Bus; the related signals travel exclusively through the bus, creating a safety interface that operates through communication rather than hardwired relays.
