The CSB02.1B-ET-EC-EP-S5-EC-NN-FW is a compact drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CSB Drive Controllers series. It supervises servo axes, distributes encoder supply power, and exchanges motion data over industrial Ethernet so packaging, printing, or assembly machines can synchronize speed, torque, and position with a single control platform. Two probe inputs capture time-critical edge events to align motion with machine triggers, and the internal multi-encoder interface supports incremental, EnDat, and Hiperface formats so a single axis card can read mixed feedback types.

For field connectivity, the controller offers 11 digital inputs that handle fast limit switches and sensor signals, while another 5 configurable digital I/O lines can be assigned as inputs or outputs for status bits or handshake logic. Motion commands or feedback can be routed through 2 analog outputs. Encoder power is delivered on separate rails; both the 12 V and 5 V supplies can source 500 mA each without exceeding thermal limits. Network communication is based on Multi-Ethernet hardware that follows the IEEE 802.3 standard, permitting the same port to link to several real-time protocols without additional option cards. A D-Sub 15-pin female connector is provided for the motor encoder cable.

An embedded power stage limits sensor excitation to 6 W, which protects delicate feedback devices while still allowing two S5 encoder evaluations to run simultaneously. Real-time traffic can be mapped to sercos III, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET IO without rewiring, and three communication or feedback daughterboards can be added through 3 optional slots when future expansion is required. Functional safety is integrated; the Safe Motion option certified as Safe Motion (S5) supports safe stop, limited speed, and safe direction functions during commissioning and production.
