The CSB02.1B-ET-EC-EP-S4-DA-NN-FW drive controller is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CSB Drive Controllers series. Designed for motion control tasks, it controls servo hardware, processes feedback signals, and exchanges status data with plant controllers for coordinated positioning and stable velocity regulation in automated assembly lines and material-handling equipment. The module combines control, communication, and safety functions in one rack-mount unit, which helps reduce the amount of separate hardware required in the cabinet. Because feedback handling and controller communication are integrated into the same housing, the drive can support precise axis behavior without relying on extra interface modules for basic operation.

Configured as single-axis, the unit accepts either a current reference of -20 to 20 mA or 4 to 20 mA or a voltage reference of ±10 V on its analog command inputs, giving the PLC flexibility in signal choice. Control electronics are supplied from 24 V DC, and total base consumption is 17 W, which helps with cabinet power planning. A built-in Multi-Ethernet module supports EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET IO, and sercos III over 2 x RJ-45 ports, while a separate RJ-45 engineering port with 100Base-TX is available for setup and diagnostics. The Multi-Encoder interface allows incremental, absolute, or serial feedback devices to be connected without external adapters, which simplifies integration with different motor feedback formats.

The controller also includes seven digital inputs and one configurable input/output for fast local functions, along with an onboard mixed I/O block that provides two analog channels, four universal DI/O points, and four dedicated digital inputs. If additional field wiring is required, an extension board adds 2 AI, 2 AO analog points and 6 DI, 6 DO, 2 DI/O digital points, which can reduce the need for separate I/O cards. Safety is handled through two safe inputs and two safe outputs that work with the integrated Safe Motion functions to monitor speed or shut down torque directly inside the drive.
