The CSB02.1B-ET-EC-EP-NN-NN-NN-FW control section is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CSB Drive Controllers series. Installed beside an HCS or HMS power module, it supplies the processing, feedback handling, and field communication needed to close current and position loops for a servomotor. In industrial automation, the unit forms the central command layer that links motion commands from PLCs to the power stage that energizes the motor.

The device supervises a single-axis arrangement and collects process data through 3 analog input channels that accept voltage or current transducers. For actuating external equipment or sending reference signals, it generates two ±10 V analog outputs with 12-bit resolution. Discrete signaling is accommodated by 11 digital inputs, each rated for 24 V, and the logic board offers 5 configurable DIO lines that can be assigned as inputs or outputs in software. Two fast probe inputs capture encoder or sensor edges for position latching, which supports precise synchronization with machine events and coordinated axis responses.

Communication and control power are integrated into the control section for use in cabinet-based motion systems. The built-in Multi-Ethernet interface is presented on 2 Ethernet ports, supporting sercos III, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET IO so the same hardware can join different control topologies. Three optional slots accept encoder, SafeMotion, or additional I/O modules, while the backplane plug connects to the HCS02, HCS03, HCS04, HMS01, or HMS02 power sections. Consumption is limited to 17 W, and the logic is supplied from a DC 24 V cabinet rail, which eases integration with standard control power. No safety technology is fitted, so any required functional safety must be implemented in external circuitry.
