It coordinates servo axes and field devices in automated cells by combining motion control, encoder evaluation, and fieldbus routing in one panel-mount unit. Through this integration, the product supplies command sequences and real-time feedback that keep industrial machinery synchronized and operating within programmed limits.
On the signal side, the unit offers 3 analog inputs, 2 analog outputs, and 11 digital inputs, so process variables, reference values, and binary states can all be monitored without external I/O cards. Three internal option slots allow additional technology functions such as extra fieldbus masters. Network traffic travels through the Multi-Ethernet communication module, which adheres to IEEE 802.3 for deterministic data exchange with PLCs and HMI panels. The primary encoder port follows a Multi-Encoder interface, and it can source up to 500 mA while staying inside the 6 W power budget reserved for position feedback devices. The discrete input terminals withstand up to 30 V, so wiring errors do not immediately damage input stages. This arrangement keeps safety handling, encoder processing, and network exchange in one controller for compact panel layouts and coordinated axis control.
