It is intended to manage servo axes and ancillary actuators within automated machinery, converting fieldbus commands into precise current and velocity profiles for connected motors. By integrating motion logic, input processing, and network interfaces in a single housing, the unit acts as the central node of a distributed motion system used in packaging lines, pick-and-place gantries, and material-handling stations.
The controller accepts position or process feedback through an analog channel with 13-bit resolution, giving 8,192 discrete steps for each captured value. It returns actuator status through 2 analog outputs, a feature often used to mirror torque or speed for external indicators. Command sequencing is supported by 11 digital inputs, while an additional set of five configurable I/O points can be assigned as triggers, latches, or diagnostic flags. For time-critical edge detection, the hardware offers two probe inputs, and three optional slots allow fieldbus or memory expansion. Network traffic moves across a Multi-Ethernet backbone, and determinism is maintained by the integrated 100Base-TX link layer.
