The CSB02.1B-ET-EC-EC-S4-EM-NN-NW is a control section for modular drive systems manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CSB Drive Controllers series. The unit connects to HCS02, HCS03, HCS04, HMS01, and HMS02 power stages to regulate servo and induction motors in automated machinery. It converts high-level motion commands into real-time axis control and carries safety, feedback, and communication functions inside a compact plug-in module. Its plug-in format keeps the control electronics separate from the power stage while allowing the same control platform to be used with several compatible drive modules.

The analog output channel completes a conversion cycle in 750 µs, so velocity or torque references can be updated at rates suited to fast closed-loop drives. The output swing of ±10 V matches common industrial amplifiers, and the 12-bit converter has a resolution of 24 mV per increment, allowing fine adjustment when tuning analog followers. Proper load matching is required; the output can source or sink current only when the connected circuit presents at least 2 kΩ of resistance and no more than a 100 nF capacitive load, otherwise signal fidelity and settling time are reduced. Two probe inputs capture position triggers independent of the main control loop, and up to three optional slots accept fieldbus cards or I/O expansions.

Field communication is handled through a Multi-Ethernet stack that supports EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and EtherCAT without hardware changes; the dedicated EtherCAT connection uses the mapped ports In:X25 P1, Out:X24 P2 and passes through two integrated Ethernet jacks that conform to the IEEE 802.3 standard. Feedback flexibility comes from the dual encoder cage, which accommodates 2 × Multi-encoder interfaces and supplies encoder emulation in formats such as Absolute SSI and incremental TTL. Motion safety is embedded via the certified Safe Motion function set, so velocity, position, and torque limits remain active even when the primary controller is disabled.
