The CSB02.1B-ET-EC-EC-NN-NN-NN-FW is a modular drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CSB Drive Controllers series. It manages power stages and feedback channels for servo or synchronous motors in automated lines, coordinating motion while exchanging real-time data with higher-level PLCs through its Multi-Ethernet platform. The unit is intended for cabinets that use external safety relays. By supplying regulated control power and processing encoder signals, it serves as the central node between the drive, fieldbus, and machine sensors.

Local I/O is provided directly on the front of the controller. There are 11 digital inputs for fast state feedback from limit switches, and 5 configurable digital I/O lines can be assigned as inputs or outputs depending on the application. Closed-loop functions such as torque or pressure regulation can be carried out with 2 analog outputs, while 3 analog inputs allow the drive to read process variables such as potentiometer positions or transducer signals. All signals are powered from the drive’s control electronics, which operate on a DC 24 V supply, so no separate low-voltage source is required. Two probe inputs capture position latches with microsecond resolution, enabling synchronized triggering with adjacent axes.

Network communication is handled by the Multi-Ethernet module, which exposes 2 Ethernet ports wired in a switch topology. Each port complies with the 100Base-TX standard and uses an RJ-45, 8-pin connector for straightforward Cat-5e cabling. The internal PHY supports protocols such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and EtherCAT without additional hardware, so a single controller can be reconfigured for different plant networks. Motor feedback is accepted through a Multi-Encoder interface, and an identical optional channel can be enabled for auxiliary encoders or handwheel feedback. Emergency stop functions are routed through external circuits.
