The CSB02.1B-ET-EC-CN-S4-NN-NN-FW is a single-axis drive controller developed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CSB Drive Controllers series. It regulates servo and asynchronous motors by closing current, velocity, and position loops, linking machine axes to higher-level PLC commands in packaging, assembly, and material-handling cells. The housing accepts standard control-cabinet mounting, and its Multi-Ethernet port connects directly to factory networks without extra gateways.
Electronics are powered from a control supply of 24 V DC, so peripheral sensors and safety relays can share a common source. The board’s idle dissipation is limited to 17 W, easing panel cooling calculations. When the unit is first energized, the capacitors charge with an inrush of < 5 A that persists for only 1 ms, minimizing fuse stress. Its dedicated CANopen interface reaches the field through a D-Sub 9-pin connector, and up to 127 nodes may reside on the same segment. A HAP01.1N plug-in panel offers local parameter entry, while a Multi-Encoder Interface and a 15-pin motor-encoder port handle position feedback. Two safe inputs and two safe outputs form the Safe Motion channel for STO or SS1 functions. Communication toward higher-level controllers uses the IEEE 802.3 physical layer.
On the same Ethernet jack, real-time protocols such as Sercos III and EtherCAT coexist with EtherNet/IP and PROFINET IO, giving machine builders flexibility when selecting a control platform. The controller feeds encoders with selectable supplies of 5 V or 12 V, allowing differential or single-ended sensors to be used without external regulators. Its Safe Motion firmware supervises speed and position independently of the PLC and can switch the two hardwired safe outputs when limits are exceeded. This arrangement supports different encoder types and network layouts without external interface modules.
