The CSB02.1B-ET-EC-CN-S4-EC-NN-FW is a drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CSB Drive Controllers series. It coordinates servo axes and peripheral devices inside automated machinery by combining motion control, fieldbus routing, and functional safety in one housing. Through its primary multi-encoder interface, the unit accepts high-resolution feedback from various encoder formats, allowing the controller to close position and velocity loops without extra interface cards.
An internal analog front end accepts three input channels that operate across a bandwidth of 1.3 kHz, and each channel is digitized at 13-bit resolution to preserve sensor detail for control loops. The front panel provides 11 dedicated digital inputs for limit switches, homing sensors, or quick-stop functions, while another 5 lines can be configured as either inputs or outputs to match application needs. Two analog outputs deliver reference values to external actuators, and two probe inputs capture edge events for position latching. Communication with higher-level PLCs is handled through Multi-Ethernet ports that support several Ethernet-based protocols, so the controller can operate on mixed networks without reconfiguration.
An additional CANopen channel enables data exchange with decentralized I/O or legacy drives and does not occupy an optional slot. Three spare slots are available for technology or memory extensions if later expansion is required. The oscilloscope-grade Extended Scope interface records internal variables at microsecond resolution, and captured traces can be synchronized with the two probe inputs, each accepting pulses as short as 4 µs. Functional safety is based on the IEC 61131 Type 1 input category and the integrated Safe Motion package, allowing drive-based stop, limit, and speed monitoring without external relays.
