It plugs into a compatible power module to regulate torque, speed, and position for a single servo axis. The unit occupies one controller slot and dissipates heat through the host drive's internal airflow path. In automated packaging, assembly, or material-handling lines, the module links motor feedback to fieldbus traffic so the machine PLC can issue synchronized moves.
Internal regulation runs on a 125 µs current loop, refreshing torque commands eight thousand times each second. The master interface uses SERCOS III, providing deterministic ring communication and automatic addressing. A maximum switching frequency of 8 kHz limits ripple current in low-inductance motors. The encoder supply provides DC 11.6 V at up to 300 mA, and that rail remains stable during load changes. Network telegrams can cycle every 1000 µs, giving a one-millisecond fieldbus update. This rapid inner loop helps hold commanded torque even during sudden load reversals. Five dedicated digital inputs cover homing and enable tasks, while three configurable outputs report drive faults. Option slot 1 provides the IndraDyn/Hiperface/1 Vpp/TTL interface, and slot 2 holds an Encoder Emulator that retransmits position to legacy devices. One normally open relay, rated 1 A at DC 24 V, passes ready status to safety relays. That contact shares the 24-volt rail with the digital outputs.
