The CSB01.1C-PL-ENS-MEM-L1-S-NN-FW is a control section for the CSB Drive Controllers series produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. As a modular drive controller, it processes command data, regulates motor current, and coordinates safety interlocks within multi-axis automation cells. It is intended to be mounted on a power section to provide closed-loop control of synchronous and asynchronous motors used in packaging, handling, and processing machines. Its modular format separates the control electronics from the power stage, allowing the platform to support different motor and machine combinations within the same drive family.
The unit operates from a logic supply of 24 V DC and draws only 8 W during normal operation, so cabinet heat load remains low. Its current control loop refreshes every 125 µs, allowing smooth torque regulation on fast-response axes. Command data from the machine PLC is exchanged over the master Parallel Interface, while parameter data and diagnostics are available through the RS-232 serial link. Digital I/O and encoder feedback wiring connect through the dedicated X15 interface. A Standard Control Panel on the front face provides local access to status information and basic setup, and the X7 memory slot stores parameter data for the control section.
During power-up, the control section presents an inrush of 4.5 A, so the supporting logic supply must tolerate that startup demand. Its output pulse train to the associated power section can reach a maximum width of 110 ms, which accommodates drive-based freeze functions, including encoder emulation. The built-in safety layer enforces a Starting Lockout, preventing unintended motion until permissive signals close the single normally open relay contact. For position feedback, the module recognizes MSK motors with HIPERFACE encoders, and it can also generate complementary square-wave signals through the Option 2 encoder-emulation channel for external control devices that require that signal format.
