Communication is handled over PROFIBUS-DP, and the fieldbus interface can reach a bus speed of 12 MBaud, permitting fast cyclic data exchange with the PLC. When power is first applied, the supply encounters an inrush of 4.5 A, so input fusing and wiring must accommodate that short surge. Two integrated encoder channels digitize feedback at 12 bit resolution and accept signals up to 500 kHz, allowing them to track high-speed motors without aliasing. Each channel presents 120 ohm input resistance, supports IndraDyn, HIPERFACE, 1 Vss, or TTL formats, and sends diagnostics to the standard front control panel.

The feedback ports deliver up to 500 mA at an output of 11.6 V, which can power external encoders without a separate supply. A maximum pulse width of 110 ms is recognized, so even low-frequency homing markers are captured reliably. The safety layer implements a Starting Lockout that prevents unintended motion until the drive receives an enable command.
