Inside an automation cell, the module converts fieldbus telegrams into pulse patterns for the power stage, letting machine builders coordinate positioning, speed, and torque loops without external relay logic.

This unit governs a single motion channel, so its control architecture is tailored to 1 axis. Bus communication is handled through PROFIBUS-DP, allowing deterministic cyclic data exchange with typical update times below a millisecond. Two incremental and absolute feedback paths are available; Interface 1 supplies IndraDyn, HIPERFACE, 1 Vpp, or TTL signals while Interface 2 accepts EnDat 2.1, 1 Vpp, or 5 V TTL formats.
