The CSB01.1C-PB-ENS-EN2-L1-S-NN-FW control section is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for integration into the CSB Drive Controllers series. Installed on the power section of a drive, it provides command processing, encoder evaluation, and fieldbus communication so that servo axes can be started, stopped, or interlocked in automated machines. The module translates motion commands from a PLC into real-time signals for the power stage while monitoring feedback for position accuracy and enforcing the built-in starting-lockout safety function.

The communication backbone of this unit is PROFIBUS-DP, accessed through a rear D-Sub 9-pin female connector that links the drive to higher-level controllers. Motor feedback is accepted on two separate encoder channels: Encoder 1 supports IndraDyn, HIPERFACE, or 1 Vpp analog signals, and Encoder 2 accepts EnDat 2.1, 1 Vpp, or 5 V TTL formats. Logic for the second encoder is powered by 5.0 VDC at an operating draw of 350 mA, while the first encoder supply is sourced from 11.6 VDC and may deliver up to 500 mA for external sensors. At power-up, the control section can demand an inrush of 4.5 A for a maximum pulse width of 110 ms, after which current settles to levels governed by the 24 VDC relay contact that is rated for 1 A and used for ready-to-operate signaling.

The housing stands 241 mm tall, occupies only 49.5 mm of cabinet width, and extends 103 mm in depth, allowing dense multi-axis arrangements on DIN rails. Continuous internal consumption is limited to 24 W, so thermal load on the enclosure is modest and standard control-cabinet ventilation is sufficient. Combined with the front-side starting-lockout input, these dimensions and power limits permit the drive stack to meet spacing guidelines while still providing relay contact outputs, PROFIBUS wiring, and both encoder interfaces without additional expansion cards.
