Product Description:
The CLC-D02.3A-FW is a compact motion controller card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CLC Motion Controllers series. Installed in a multi-axis drive rack, the card interprets machine instructions, calculates trajectories, and transmits setpoints to servo amplifiers through one SERCOS input and one SERCOS output port. It is intended for applications that require deterministic position control but already use external signal conditioning. The board carries no onboard digital I/O and instead relies on serial or fieldbus links for feedback and related communication.
At the core of the module is a 68EC020 microprocessor running at 25.0 MHz, supported by a 68882 math coprocessor for floating-point arithmetic used in interpolation routines. Program variables are stored in 512 Kbyte of static RAM, while motion sequences can be loaded through the two asynchronous serial ports. Port A reaches a maximum rate of 38,400 baud using the 8N1 character format, whereas Port B tops out at 9,600 baud for service diagnostics. A nonvolatile area provides 0.9 Ah of battery-backed capacity so data held in SRAM remains available after power is removed. The controller operates from a regulated +5 Vdc logic rail supplied by the common backplane.
Parameter retention is also supported by a lithium cell rated at 3 V, which preserves stored registers until the battery is replaced. Program code resides in sockets that accept up to 1 Mbyte of EPROM, providing room for custom kinematics libraries. The board has 2 serial channels, allowing simultaneous machine communication and debugging without interrupting motion. During operation, the board draws a continuous 800 mA, which must be considered when sizing the 5 V supply bus. The SERCOS connection supports synchronized communication with connected drives and higher-level control systems.
