Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactured the CLC-D 2.1M-ELS-01.RS motion controller as part of the CLC Motion Controllers series. It coordinates axis modules within Diax03 drive systems, performing path calculations and distributing position data over the Sercos fiber-optic ring. This allows multiple axes to follow coordinated motion profiles in real time. By linking higher-level PLC instructions to real-time drive commands, the unit serves as a central processing node in automated machining cells, packaging lines, and material-handling equipment.
The controller is energized from a regulated +5 Vdc logic rail and draws up to 800 mA during full computational load. A Motorola CPU running at 25.0 MHz executes interpolation cycles, while volatile program variables are stored in 512 Kbyte of SRAM for rapid access. Non-volatile application code resides in an EPROM bank rated at 1 Mbyte, allowing the device to boot independently of an external storage medium. One optical Sercos input channel receives synchronization telegrams, and a corresponding Sercos output channel transmits the processed motion data back onto the ring.
Long-term parameter retention is maintained by a lithium backup pack with a capacity of 0.9 Ah at 3 V, preventing data loss during power interruptions. Program modules plug into 2 EPROM sockets, allowing memory devices to be installed without specialized tools. A front-mounted 1-Digit 7-Segment LED shows hexadecimal status codes for quick visual status checks. Two RS-232/RS-485 serial ports support host communication and service access, and the single Sercos input/output pairing maintains isochronous exchange with Diax03 drives. The Euro-card format helps the controller fit into compact rack-based control assemblies used in industrial machinery.
