The Bosch Rexroth Indramat BTM04.1-NB-TA-TA-VA-2AE-FW is a machine operator panel from the BTM04 Machine Operator Panels series. It serves as a front-end human-machine interface for CNC stations, placing manual controls such as the emergency stop, feed override, and illuminated keys directly on an enclosure door or pendant. In automated machining lines, the panel lets the operator interrupt motion quickly, adjust feed rates while the process is running, and enter commands without opening the drive controller cabinet.

Safety hardware occupies the upper section of the panel. The emergency stop uses the NB variant, which includes a normally closed contact so opening the circuit removes power. Additional drilled holes around the button allow extra emergency-stop actuators to be mounted when more than one access point is needed, and an auxiliary contact sends push-button status to the PLC. The feed override rotary switch has 16 discrete positions and 3 selector keys for milling applications where feed trimming is used often. Key illumination is provided by LED sources for visibility under shop-floor glare, and each pushbutton uses a short-stroke mechanism for reduced travel and fast tactile response.

Command entry is divided into two keyboard sections. The panel contains 2 plug-in modules, and each module carries 15 short-stroke keys so numeric, axis, and function groups can be separated across the front layout. The modules use the VA feed override variant, so the internal wiring matches the required analog scale without external conversion. Front gaskets, seal lips, and a coated bezel bring the exposed face to IP65 protection, which helps block coolant spray and airborne dust while the rear remains open for cable routing. This arrangement helps keep the operator controls accessible on the machine front while protecting the contact area during normal production use.
