The BTM04.1-BA-TA-TA-VA-2FA-FW is a modular machine operator panel assembled by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the BTM04 Machine Operator Panels series. This front-mount device combines tactile keys, rotary selectors, and override hardware to relay manual commands to a CNC or PLC. Installed on machining centers, it gives operators direct access to feed adjustments, function keys, and status LEDs so cutting processes stay aligned with part programs while the controller cabinet remains sealed during routine operation.

The TA section of the panel carries the primary keybed. Its sealed membrane achieves IP65 front protection, blocking dust and coolant splash when the unit is mounted on an enclosure door. Each key uses a short-stroke mechanism, so actuation force stays low and cycle life remains high. Operators can track active functions through 15 illuminated keys, and every cap is ready for labels so the layout can match the machine program. Two adjacent rows are formed by a writable keyboard module fitted in slots 2 and 3, and these modules can be replaced without rewiring the rest of the panel. Slot 1 is occupied by a blind plate that reserves space for future I/O expansion.

The VA rotary selector mounted in slot 4 functions as a dedicated feed override module for milling applications. It lets the spindle feed be trimmed during operation rather than requiring the program to stop. The selector shares the same IP65 front seal as the keybed and carries a detent barrel with 16 lock positions that map directly to incremental percentage values in the motion controller. Three auxiliary pushbuttons beside the knob act as 3 switch keys, and each one has its own LED for quick state feedback during setup or jog moves. This arrangement keeps the manual controls concentrated on the panel face without increasing enclosure depth.
