The BTM04.1-BA-TA-TA-VA-2EA-FW is a configurable machine operator panel produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the BTM04 Machine Operator Panels series. Mounted on the front of milling or turning centers, the unit accepts manual commands such as feed-rate adjustment, cycle start, and function selection, forwarding them to the control system through its onboard I/O. By combining illuminated keys with a dedicated override section, it gives operators a concise interface for routine setup and machining tasks. The layout keeps routine controls easy to reach during normal machine operation.

This panel’s sealed face is rated at IP65, so it resists dust and low-pressure water jets. Behind the membrane are 4 module slots; the factory configuration uses a blind plate in slot 1, writable keyboard assemblies in slots 2 and 3, and a feed-override unit in slot 4. The main board provides 16 input and output slots for direct PLC wiring. Each writable keyboard adds 15 keys with LED indicators that accept operator-defined legends. Three additional illuminated switch keys sit on the blind plate to trigger auxiliary functions. All keycaps can be labeled, and the mechanism minimizes finger fatigue while still giving a clear actuation point.

Interaction speed is further improved by the panel’s 2 keyboard modules, which group soft-function and data-entry controls in one area. For axis speed control, the feed-override module offers 16 lock settings that hold the selected percentage until deliberately released; this detent scheme aligns with the requirements of milling processes where accidental rate changes could damage tools. That module also carries 3 switch keys with LED status rings for rapid traverse, reduced feed, and program stop, and all pushbuttons share the short stroke mechanism, providing uniform tactile response across the panel.
