The BTM03.1-TA-TA-VA-SA-BA-NA-2AA-FW operator panel is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the BTM03 Machine Operator Panels series. It is installed on machining centers and transfer lines to give the automation controller a local human-machine interface that combines hardwired safety, motion overrides, and soft-key entry in one unit. By integrating these functions on a single front plate, the panel reduces cabinet wiring and allows local adjustment of spindle speed, feed rate, and program flow without access to the control rack.

A 24 VDC supply is brought into the panel through connector X28/X29, which keeps logic power separate from drive or spindle circuits. Communication with the numerical control is available on serial interface connector X8, which transmits status and key-scan data. The master board inside the housing provides 16 inputs and 16 outputs for direct connection of buttons, lamps, or external interlocks, and it can be expanded by occupying 2 to 4 master board slots depending on application size. Six backplane positions are available for additional option cards, and the mechanical frame therefore houses 6 module slots so dedicated override knobs or added I/O can be installed without changing the enclosure.

Safety and override hardware is concentrated on removable sub-modules. The panel includes 1 emergency-stop module, which provides fail-safe shutdown contacts for the drive enable chain. It also includes 1 feed override module for scaling axis feed rates during setup. Manual numerical input is entered through 2 keyboard modules that use membrane keys for hexadecimal addressing and function selection. For spindle adjustment, the panel carries 1 spindle override module, which allows continuous control of cutting speed without changing the programmed value.
