Bosch Rexroth Indramat supplies the BTM03.1-TA-TA-TA-BA-VA-BA-2FF-FW, an operator panel in the BTM03 Machine Operator Panels series. The unit mounts on machine fronts where it serves as the primary human-machine interface between a CNC or PLC and the machine tool. It houses replaceable key, blank, and override modules so builders can configure the control surface without custom machining. By concentrating commonly used cycle, feed, and auxiliary commands in one panel, it simplifies wiring and shortens commissioning time in automated cells.

Slots 1, 2, and 3 are occupied by key modules, giving the panel a total of 3 key modules. Each module presents 15 keys per module so the operator receives 45 discrete pushbuttons that can be mapped to program start, axis enable, or auxiliary functions. The keys employ a Short Stroke action that provides clear actuation feedback without the travel of a mechanical switch, which speeds repetitive operation. Every key cap is backlit by an integrated LED so status or fault conditions remain visible in low-light enclosures. For rapid relabeling during retrofit work, the key legends are Writable, allowing the builder to mark new functions without replacing hardware.

Slot 5 is fitted with a feed override module that handles one potentiometer. The override has 16 positions, set with an incremental rotary switch that lets operators fine-tune feed rates during milling cycles. Three dedicated selector keys accompany the dial; these 3 switch keys provide quick access to preset percentages or to lock the override. The milling-specific logic tied to this module is denoted by the Milling feed override function. Two blank inserts occupy Slots 4 and 6, bringing the removable cover count to 2 blank modules, which can be exchanged for future I/O expansions without altering the panel footprint.
