The BTM03.1-NN-TA-VA-TA-WE-MB-2EA-FW is an operator panel developed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the BTM03 Machine Operator Panels series. This front-end unit combines keys, status LEDs, and modular slots to present machine commands to the CNC or PLC and display operating states to the user. In automated machining cells, it acts as the physical interface, allowing operators to select modes, issue overrides, and initiate safety actions directly on the cabinet door or pendant.

For electrical interfacing, the panel provides 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs, enabling direct wiring of pushbuttons, sensors, and lamps without an external I/O expander. The membrane keyboard contains 15 LED-backlit keys, so each function key can indicate its active state. All keys have a short stroke, reducing finger travel and allowing rapid actuation during jog or cycle start. Each key field can be labeled, so machine-specific graphics or text can be placed behind the key caps. For feed speed intervention, the integrated potentiometer offers 16 lock settings; on this BTM03 version, these override steps are intended for milling processes and let the user fine-tune rates in defined increments while the NC program runs.

Function allocation is arranged through six front-loading slots. Slot 1 is reserved for an empty Emergency-Stop module slot, so the installer can insert a safety switch suited to the risk assessment. Slots 2 and 4 carry a keyboard module that is writable, giving additional soft functions beside the main keypad. Slot 3 holds the Feed Override module, which works with the override steps described earlier. Slot 5 contains a Set-Up module that groups axis-reference and jog commands, while Slot 6 adds a machine operating mode module to switch between automatic, manual, and incremental operating states.
