The unit serves as a front-end human-machine interface that lets machine tool operators issue emergency commands, adjust feed and spindle overrides, and enter process data directly on the control cabinet door. It consolidates safety and motion functions in a modular housing for milling centers, lathes, and other CNC installations that require dedicated hard-key controls for rapid intervention on the shop floor. Because the controls are presented on a fixed panel, common actions can be performed without moving through layered software menus.

At the heart of the safety circuit is a pair of 2 normally closed contacts that open when the red mushroom actuator is pressed. The actuator itself is a locking emergency-off button, so twisting is required before power can be restored. Feed rate trimming is handled by a bank of 3 switch keys with LEDs. Each key engages one of 16 lock positions, giving the CNC clear, repeatable override steps during milling work. These keys occupy Slot 2, and their LEDs show the selected ratio at a glance. A matching control group in the spindle channel provides the same type of stepped adjustment for spindle speed.

The keyboard section includes 15 keys with LEDs that light when a function is active. The panel uses short-stroke keys to reduce travel and support quick input, and the caps can be labeled for machine-specific commands. Internally, Slot 1 carries an emergency-stop module, Slot 2 houses a feed override module, and Slot 3 is fitted with a spindle override module. Slots 4 and 5 contain writable keyboard modules, while Slot 6 is closed by a blind plate to help preserve the enclosure seal. This arrangement keeps the safety, override, and command sections separated so active controls are easier to identify during operation.
