The BTM03.1-NA-TA-VA-BA-BA-HA-2FF-FW is an operator panel manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the BTM03 Machine Operator Panels series. It provides a fixed-mount human-machine interface for metal-cutting equipment and automated assembly stations, allowing users to select programs, adjust feeds, and trigger safety functions from the same fascia. Signals from the panel travel over dedicated local and serial links, so machine logic can respond immediately to front-panel actions during production. The unit occupies a shallow housing and mounts directly next to display modules on the main control enclosure.

At hardware revision 1, the front plate carries two blank covers that reserve space for future switch options while sealing unused apertures. The primary keypad module supplies 15 pushbuttons / 15 LEDs, giving status-linked illumination for each function key. For incremental feed adjustment, a dedicated feed-override strip includes 3 pushbuttons / 3 LEDs, enabling quick plus, minus, and reset commands without entering numeric parameters. Safety is addressed through a Slot 1 module that provides a prominent Emergency Stop switch wired into the first input channel. Local digital signals are routed through X28/X29 and powered at 24 VDC, letting sensors and indicator lamps draw current from the panel's internal supply. The two blank covers also keep unused areas sealed and help separate high-priority keys from auxiliary zones.

For axis jog and fine positioning, the panel includes a Hand Wheel whose pulse train is forwarded over the serial option slot. That slot is fitted with an RS232 interface, and the mating connector is X8. Depending on the supervisory CNC, communication can be set to 9600 or 19200 baud so event messages and parameter downloads are transmitted reliably. The panel's diagnostic LEDs confirm when the serial channel is active, and isolation between the serial card and the 24 V local I/O helps prevent ground loops. Hand-wheel pulses, keypad commands, and feed-override inputs are handled alongside a hard-wired emergency stop chain.
