The BTM03.1-NA-TA-TA-TA-VA-BA-2EA-FW machine operator panel is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the BTM03 Machine Operator Panels series. Designed as a front-mounted interface, it combines emergency shutdown hardware, alphanumeric entry keys, and feed-override controls in one enclosure. The unit supplies the discrete commands used on milling centers and machining cells, allowing an operator to start cycles, interrupt motion, and adjust feed rates while its master board forwards corresponding input and output signals to the CNC controller. It also uses a modular architecture that allows the faceplate to be configured with specialized keyboard or override modules in predefined positions.

Six receptacles form the internal backplane; the panel uses 6 slots with an Emergency-Stop module, three keyboard modules, one feed-override module, and a blind plate. The front housing is sealed to IP65, which helps block dust and low-pressure water jets often found around machining equipment. The stop device is a Locking Button that must be twisted to reset, and pressing it opens 2 N/C safety contacts wired into the drive enable chain. For direct field wiring, the master board exposes 16 Inputs, 16 Outputs, allowing pushbuttons, indicator lamps, and interlock devices to terminate on the panel without auxiliary terminal strips. Keyed connectors are used for module identification, which helps prevent mismatched insertion.

Each keyboard module contains Short Stroke switches for rapid actuation, and the caps are labelable so assigned functions remain easy to identify. The feed-override assembly supplies 3 keys that step spindle or feed speed, while an internal rotary grid provides 16 locks so individual increments can be permitted or blocked. This override path is tuned for Milling, aligning the panel with common metal-cutting feed tables and removing the need for an external potentiometer. Because the blind plate covers the unused position, contaminants are kept out of vacant cavities and the aluminum faceplate retains its mechanical rigidity during continuous production shifts.
