It mounts on the front of automated machinery and serves as the human-machine interface, letting an operator start, stop, and monitor sequences directly at the work envelope. By combining status lamps, programmable keys, and emergency signaling in one sealed housing, the panel keeps essential controls local while drive amplifiers and PLCs remain in the control cabinet. This arrangement shortens wiring runs and improves response time during faults in high-throughput production lines.

The panel is design version 1, which indicates the mechanical layout and wiring pattern used for this revision. A durable powder-coated finish resists abrasion and common shop chemicals, while the enclosure maintains the sealed integrity required for an IP65 rating, allowing washdown with low-pressure water jets. Internally, a backplane carries six detachable inserts, and the total of 6 module positions allows the station to be configured for each machine.
