It serves as the primary interface between motion control electronics and the operator, translating manual commands into drive or spindle speed changes in discrete automation processes.

The emergency stop pushbutton uses a locking action that remains engaged until intentionally released, and its safety loop is implemented with 2 N/C contacts to meet dual-channel stop requirements. Two key modules, each fitted with short-stroke pushbuttons, follow the standardized sequence of E-Stop / Key / Key / Blank / Feed / Spindle. Their caps are factory blank so legends can be added for machine-specific functions, while the backlit fields rely on LED illumination for long service life. Spindle speed is adjusted through a second detented dial with 16 spindle positions, supported by three unlit spindle override keys for rapid coarse changes.
