Product Description:
The BTA16.1-NA-WA-VE-BS is a safety and operator interface board produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the BTA16 Machine Control Boards series. Installed in multi-axis machining centers, the board links the operator panel to the main drive controller and combines emergency stop control, rapid traverse override, and fieldbus communication on one PCB. This arrangement supports coordinated shutdowns and controlled speed reduction while keeping the motion system connected to higher-level automation networks. The module mounts on the cabinet door, so wiring to illuminated keys and status indicators remains short and front-panel connections do not require long harness runs across the enclosure.
Field connectivity is provided through the board’s INTERBUS-S / BT-BUS interface, allowing deterministic I/O exchange with CNC, PLC, and drive modules. For emergency stop circuits, the card provides auxiliary command channels through three switch keys with LEDs that can show their active state during operation. It routes the hardwired interlock through two normally closed contacts, so power is removed if any conductor opens. The main stop actuator is a panel-mounted locking emergency-off button that must be twisted to reset after it is pressed. Front-panel emergency stop components are rated to IP65, which helps keep out dust and water jets in machine environments.
Speed limitation is handled through the board’s rapid override channel. A second group of illuminated keys lets the operator move through preset feed-rate steps, and the board decodes the switch selection to output one of 16 binary patterns to the drive for controlled motion reduction. Because the override logic is handled on the same board as the stop circuitry and fieldbus interface, the control panel can pass operator commands to the drive system without extra interface modules. This keeps cabinet layout compact and maintains direct command paths between the operator station, safety relays, and the main control hardware.
