The ADF160C-B05TB2-BS13-D2V2 manufactured by Bosh Rexroth is a liquid-cooled ADF motor operated in ambient temperatures ranging from 0° to 45° C and mounted at any elevation level above the ground. The spindle motor is designed as per DIN 40050 with protection against penetration by solid objects with a diameter greater than 50 mm and penetration against water sprayed at the equipment (housing) from all directions. The spindle motor main housing is painted black and can be repainted with an additional layer of paint that should not be thicker than 40 µm. The original paint is resistant to yellowing and chalky build-ups, weathering, or corrosion by alkaline solutions and diluted acid. The coat can, however, peal if frequently washed by a steam cleaner.

The spindle motor uses a plain output shaft for fast and friction-free locking of the shaft-hub-connections that can withstand heavy loads and torque in a constant direction. The shaft-hub connection is secured by an axial threaded center hole that is located on the shaft overhang. The ADF160C-B05TB2-BS13-D2V2 rotor is balanced with a full key and a toothed wheel during assembling.  Half keys are also used to balance the interconnecting parts of the spindle motor rotor.

The ADF motor is also equipped with a radial sealing as per DIN 3760 type A and is lubricated regularly to protect it from frictional heat that occurs at the lip of the seal. The lubricant used also acts as a coolant for the spindle motor as it cools the heat emitted at the points of contact. Always ensure that the connection points of contact do not run dry since sliding friction could damage the bearings.
