The 2AD100C-B05OA1-AS01-B2N2 is a compact 2AD induction motor designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. It is built with several features to enhance its operational reliability, like its IP-65-rated housing per DIN 40 050. Such housing permits its safe use under poor environmental conditions as it prevents contact with parts, either moving or to which voltage is being applied. It is also dustproof, touch-proof, and impervious to water jets sprayed at it from different directions. Another protective feature of the 2AD motor is the integration of NTC thermistors in its windings. These highly sensitive components detect temperature changes swiftly, making them useful for protecting the induction motor from irreversible damage due to thermal overload.

Like other models in the 2AD series, the 2AD100C-B05OA1-AS01-B2N2 is dynamically balanced according to DIN ISO 2373. It belongs to the Vibration Severity Level S. The motor’s output shaft is the type with keyway, balanced with the entire key according to DIN 6885-1. It allows the keyed transmission of torques with constant direction and has low requirements for the shaft-hub connection. Its cooling mechanism is surface cooling, with a system comprising a fixed axial blower. This axial blower generates air steam fed over the surface of the motor via air baffles. The motor’s base speed is 1,500 revolutions per minute, but this can increase to 9,000 revolutions per minute. It should be operated at an ambient temperature ranging from 0^oC to 45^oC.
