Bosch Rexroth’s compact 2AD AC motors are a group of air-cooled induction motors used as main-spindle drives or servo drives. They are used to create intelligent drive solutions with high power density and open functions. Their typical applications include metal-forming machines and machine tools.

The 2AD100B-B05OA8-AS03-D2N2 is an asynchronous motor in the 2AD series with a frame shape suited for flange mounting. It is equipped with NTC thermistors in its windings to protect it from damage due to thermal overload. These thermistors have a fast response time, allowing them to quickly detect temperature changes. The motor has a base speed of 1,500 revolutions per minute and reaches a maximum speed of 9,000 revolutions per minute. It generates a maximum torque of 22Nm. Its Ingress Protection rating is IP 65 according to DIN 40 050, indicating that it is touch-proof, dustproof, and safe from multidirectional water jet sprays. Thanks to its output shaft with keyway per DIN 6885-1, the keyed transmission of torques with constant direction and low requirements for the shaft-hub connection is guaranteed. This shaft has a sealing ring designed per DIN 3760 – Design A.

High-resolution motor feedback provides relative indirect position detection in the 2AD100B-B05OA8-AS03-D2N2. It eliminates the need for a separate incremental encoder and functions with high-level precision. The motor generates a nominal torque of 22Nm and has a thermal time constant of 35 minutes. Its standard bearing design features deep-groove ball bearings for absorbing low to medium radial and axial forces. This promotes its noiseless operation and extended service life. The 2AD motor is dynamically balanced according to the requirements of DIN ISO 2373 and belongs to Vibration Severity Level S.
