The Bosch 1MS160D-4A-A1 is a stator for motors that belong to the 1MB product line. The stator is compatible with 1MB motors that have 160 motor frame size, D motor frame length and 4A motor winding code. The stator is usually supplied as part of a completely configured motor. When it is supplied as a separate component, the 1MS160D-4A-A1 has to be mounted. The stator mounting procedure is included in the product documentation. Only trained personnel should mount the stator. The 1MS160D-4A-A1 includes an aluminum cooling jacket. During motor operation, the liquid coolant flows through the jacket and absorb heat that is generated during operation. For corrosion protection and for chemical stability the cooling water must have an additive which is suitable for mixed installation.

Use of aggressive coolants and lubricants can cause irreparable damage to the motor. The ambient temperature for which the 1MS160D-4A-A1 is designed is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius and the recommended elevation is 0 to 1000 meters. The protection category to which the stator belongs is IP00. Weight of the 1MS160D-4A-A1 is approximately 11.1 kilograms. The stator is supplied with a type plate. The type plate should be attached to a visible location on the machine. This will allow reading of motor data at any time without having to work in areas that are difficult to access. The type designation, serial number and month/year of manufacture are stuck to the thick end of the stator on the inside of the cooling jacket. The 1MS160D-4A-A1 stator and corresponding motor should only be used for approved applications. The electrical connection on the 1MS160D-4A-A1 is through a 1.5-meter cable that is lead out at stator end with larger output diameter.
