The 1MS140B-4A-A1 is a stator for Bosch Rexroth 1MB frameless spindle motors. The stator on 1MB motors is liquid cooled because of which the motor delivers high power density. The coolant absorbs the power loss in the stator and a major portion of the power loss in the rotor. The 1MS140B-4A-A1 includes an aluminum cooling jacket. The stator is designed for 1MB motors with the following specifications: frame size 140, frame length B and winding code 4A. 1MB motors with the 1MS140B-4A-A1 stator are designed for operation in ambient temperature that range from 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. The required flow rate for the liquid coolant is 1.4 liters per minute. The electrical connection to the stator is made through a 1.5 meter cable that is connected to the stator side with the larger output diameter.

The stator should only be lifted and transported in a vertical position before it is screwed onto the spindle housing. Parallel chains or ropes with suitable transport rings should be used. The 1MS140B-4A-A1 should be stored in a dry and dust free environment where it is protected from shocks and vibrations. The permissible temperature range for stator storage and transportation is -20 to 80 degrees Celsius. The stator should be stored in the vertical position. This is required because storage in the horizontal position can cause the fit on the cooling jacket to be damaged. The 1MS140B-4A-A1 can be delivered as part of an assembled motor or separately. The 1MS140B-4A-A1 contains a label that is attached to the thick end of the stator on the inside of the cooling jacket.
