The high-speed synchronous frameless spindle motors of the 1MB series are products of Bosch Rexroth in the Rexroth IndraDrive drive system. They have a high power density and rigidity; hence, they are used in turning, grinding, and milling operations of equipment like machine tools, transfer lines, and special-purpose machines. The 1MR rotors are a series of rotors in this motor series.

The 1MR160F-A055 is a rotor model in the 1MR family designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. It is the rotor of the Bosch Rexroth 1MB asynchronous frameless spindle motor with a frame size of 160 and whose frame length is F. Its features include a sleeve and a laminated core with a step interference fit. The balancing rings in front of it have tapped holes, and they are used to balance the 1MB motor to the desired vibration severity grade. The grade of vibration severity must be in line with the DIN VDE 0530 requirement. The rotor aligns to the spindle through its graduated fitting surfaces with slightly graduated diameters when it is mounted.

Heat loss in the 1MR160F-A055 is through an air gap in the stator of its 1MB motor. The rotor’s moment of inertia is 0.016 kgm² and its inside diameter is 55mm. It weighs 10.2kg and is suitable for operation with an ambient temperature of 40^oC. A red lacquer coating is used to protect this rotor from corrosion during its storage and transport. It is removed before assembly but can be reapplied to protect it from such corrosive damage. Its Ingress Protection category is IP 10; hence it must be operated with protective seals to extend its lifetime of operation.
